Colon Hydrotherapy in Little Canada, MN: Closed & Open System
Colon hydrotherapy is where Healing Within began: founder Kristin Burich opened the Center in Little Canada with colonics in 2002. Today we offer both closed and open system sessions, plus combination sessions with energy work and body alignment, in private, calm rooms for guests from St. Paul, Roseville, Maplewood and across the Twin Cities.
What is colon hydrotherapy?
Colon hydrotherapy (also called a colonic) is a gentle rinse of the large intestine using purified, temperature-controlled water. It is a wellness and comfort service, not a medical procedure, and many guests use it as part of a broader reset alongside hydration, whole foods and rest.
- Closed system: your practitioner manages the gentle flow of water while you rest on the table, staying with you throughout.
- Open system: a private session where you stay in control of the pace, with guidance from your practitioner.
A colonic is different from an at-home enema: the water is filtered and temperature-controlled, it is introduced gradually over a full session, and a practitioner is there to guide you. Not sure which system fits you? Many first-time guests start with whichever feels more comfortable after a quick conversation with us.
How a session works
- Intake and questions. We review your health history and answer anything on your mind. Nothing is rushed.
- Get comfortable. You are draped and covered for privacy throughout.
- The session. Warm water is introduced slowly and released in cycles over about 60 minutes. Tell your practitioner any time you want to slow down or pause.
- Aftercare. You will receive simple aftercare guidance; many guests plan an easy, well-hydrated rest of the day.
Before your visit, a light meal a few hours ahead and good hydration help most guests feel comfortable. How many sessions you choose is personal; we are happy to talk through options without pressure.
What many guests notice
- Feeling comfortable, refreshed and more at ease afterward
- A sense of “starting fresh” when a colonic is paired with healthier routines
- Feeling more relaxed than expected, thanks to the warm water and private setting
- Deeper calm when they choose a combination session with energy work
Who it’s for (and who should check with a doctor first)
Colonics suit adults who want a private, supportive wellness experience and are cleared for it. Please check with your doctor before booking if you are pregnant; have inflammatory bowel disease, hemorrhoid flare-ups or recent abdominal or rectal surgery; or have heart or kidney disease. Our practitioners are not licensed medical providers and do not diagnose; Minnesota complementary practitioners provide a Client Bill of Rights.
