Frequently asked questions

What does a body wrap do?

A body wrap is a spa ritual in which a product is applied to your skin and you're wrapped snugly to rest in warmth. It's designed to help you relax, leave your skin feeling smooth and hydrated and give you a calm hour away from screens. Many guests describe it as a reset for busy weeks. We keep it honest: a body wrap is a self-care experience, not a medical service or a way to change your body composition.

What is a Goo-Chi body wrap?

Goo-Chi is the wrap system we use at Healing Within. During your 60-minute session, our team applies the Goo-Chi product, wraps you comfortably and lets you rest while it does its work on your skin. Many guests enjoy the warm, cocooned feeling and use the time to breathe and unwind. Learn more about the service on our body wrap overview page, or ask our team which products are used when you book.

Do body wraps change your measurements, and are results permanent?

We want to be straightforward here. Any change in measurements you notice right after a wrap is usually temporary and related to water shifts in the skin, not lasting changes to your body. We don't promise inches, sizes or scale results. What many guests do notice is skin that feels softer and a mind that feels calmer. If body contouring is your interest, ask about lipo laser as one complementary option, with realistic expectations.

How long does a body wrap session take?

Our Goo-Chi Body Wrap is a 60-minute session. Arrive about ten minutes early to check in and change. Since you'll be resting quietly for much of the hour, many guests like to schedule their wrap at the end of the day or pair it with time in our far infrared sauna. Pick a time that suits you on our booking page.

What should you wear for a body wrap near St. Paul?

Most guests wear simple undergarments or disposable underwear that won't mind a little product, and you'll be draped for privacy throughout. Leave jewelry at home. Bring comfortable, loose clothing to change into afterward, along with a hair tie and a water bottle. If you're unsure what's best for your comfort, call our Little Canada front desk at (651) 490-3347 before your visit and we'll walk you through it.

How often should you get a body wrap?

There's no single right answer. Some guests enjoy a wrap monthly as part of a self-care rhythm, while others book one before a special event or as a seasonal pick-me-up. A wellness membership can make regular visits easier on your budget. If you'd like personalized guidance, book our free 15-minute wellness consultation, available online or in person, through our booking page.

What should you avoid after a body wrap?

Give your skin a little time before showering or applying heavy lotions, and avoid very hot tubs or intense workouts right afterward so you can enjoy the calm you just created. Sip water and wear loose, breathable clothing. Many guests plan a quiet evening after their wrap. If you notice any skin redness or irritation that doesn't settle, let our team know and check with your physician.

Who should not get a body wrap?

Please check with your physician before booking a body wrap if you are pregnant or nursing, have heart or circulation concerns, high or low blood pressure, diabetes, sensitive skin, open cuts or rashes, or known allergies to skin products. People who feel uncomfortable in warm, snug wraps should also let us know. Always check with your physician to see if a service is right for you, and share any health changes at check-in.

How much does a body wrap cost in the Twin Cities?

Please see current pricing for a single Goo-Chi Body Wrap on our booking page. A wrap is also part of our Total Detox Day Experience, about six hours that also includes a facial, hyperbaric session, ion footbath, infrared sauna and ear candling, plus take-home supplements. It's regularly $600 and currently $550 as a limited-time deal on our daily deals page. We also accept HSA payments.
