Frequently asked questions

What is energy healing?

Energy healing is an umbrella term for gentle practices built on the idea that supporting the body's energy may encourage relaxation and emotional balance. Sessions usually involve light touch or hands held just above the body, along with calm breathing and intention. Many guests describe them as deeply restful. Energy healing is complementary, not a substitute for medical or mental-health care. Learn more on our energy healing services page.

What happens during an energy healing session near St. Paul?

You'll start with a brief conversation about how you're feeling and what you hope to get from the session. Then you'll rest, fully clothed, on a comfortable table while your practitioner works quietly, using light touch or no touch at all. Soft music or silence helps you settle. Afterward, you'll have a moment to reflect and share anything you noticed. Sessions at our Little Canada center run 30 or 60 minutes.

What does energy healing feel like?

Experiences vary. Many guests notice warmth, tingling, gentle waves of relaxation or a heavy, sleepy feeling. Some feel emotional, and others mostly notice a quieter mind. It's also completely normal to feel very little in the moment and more of a sense of ease later in the day. There's no right or wrong response. If you're curious, our short video What Is Energy Healing? on this page offers a helpful preview.

Can energy healing be done remotely?

Yes. We offer distance energy healing sessions in addition to in-person visits. During a remote session, you'll rest somewhere quiet at home while your practitioner works from our center at a scheduled time. Many guests outside the Twin Cities or with busy schedules appreciate this option. Choose a 30- or 60-minute distance session on our booking page or call (651) 490-3347 to ask how it works.

What should I wear to an energy healing session?

Wear comfortable, loose clothing you can rest in. You'll stay fully clothed, so think soft layers, and consider bringing socks since some guests feel cool while lying still. Skip heavy perfume, and plan to silence your phone. For distance sessions, choose a cozy spot where you won't be interrupted. A glass of water afterward and a few unhurried minutes can help you ease back into your day.

How many energy healing sessions do you need?

There's no prescribed number. Some guests book one session during a stressful season, while others enjoy monthly visits as part of their self-care. Notice how you feel in the days after each session and decide from there. Our wellness memberships offer member discounts and priority booking for regular visitors. A free 15-minute wellness consultation can also help you plan, online or in person.

Is energy healing safe?

Energy healing is gentle and non-invasive, and most people find it very relaxing. The most important safety point is this: it is complementary, not a substitute for medical or mental-health care. Please keep up with your doctor, therapist and any prescribed plans. Our practitioners are not licensed medical providers and do not diagnose. As Minnesota law requires, we provide a Client Bill of Rights before your first session.

What is the difference between energy healing and Reiki?

Reiki is one specific style of energy work that originated in Japan. Energy healing is a broader term that can include many approaches. At Healing Within, sessions may draw on several gentle techniques depending on your practitioner and what feels supportive that day. If you're interested in a related practice, explore our Emotion Code and Body Code sessions or a soothing sound bath.

Are there energy healing classes near me in the Twin Cities?

Yes. In 2027 we're hosting an Energy Healing Deep Dive on the last Sunday of each month from 2–5 PM for $50, plus Wednesday evening seminars from 7–8:30 PM for $20 that include energy healing topics. These are a wonderful way to learn in community. See dates and register on our events calendar, or book a private session through our booking page.

How much does an energy healing session cost?

Please see current pricing for 30- and 60-minute sessions, in person or at a distance, on our booking page. Members enjoy discounts and priority booking through our membership options. We accept HSA payments; whether a particular service qualifies depends on your plan, so check with your plan administrator first. Our team is happy to help you choose the right session length.
