What is a holistic facial?
A holistic facial looks at more than the surface. Along with cleansing and caring for your skin, it is designed to help you relax deeply through calming touch, a quiet setting and an unhurried pace. What does a gua sha facial do?
Gua sha uses a smooth, flat tool glided across the skin in gentle, sweeping strokes. Our Endermologie Gua Sha Facial combines that ritual with mechanical lymphatic massage. Many guests say their face looks more refreshed, less puffy and more sculpted afterward, though results are temporary and vary. It is wonderfully relaxing, too. Where can I get a holistic facial near St. Paul?
Healing Within is located at 410 Little Canada Rd E in Little Canada, a short drive from St. Paul, Roseville, Shoreview, Maplewood and White Bear Lake. Our facials are part of our spa and rejuvenation services, and many guests add red light therapy or a sauna session to the same visit. Choose your time on our booking page.
How long does a facial take?
Our Holistic Facial is 60 minutes, and the Endermologie Gua Sha Facial is 45 minutes. Plan a few extra minutes for check-in, especially on your first visit, so we can learn about your skin and preferences. If you want a full day of pampering, a facial is also part of our Total Detox Day Experience, about six hours of spa services.
What is the difference between a holistic facial and a regular facial?
Many standard facials focus mainly on technique and product. A holistic facial adds intention around relaxation and the whole person, with a slower pace, nurturing touch and time to breathe. The goal is for your skin to look refreshed and for you to feel restored. Ask us about the products we use if you have specific preferences or sensitivities.
Are holistic facials good for sensitive skin?
Many guests with sensitive skin enjoy our facials because we move gently and adjust to how your skin responds. Please share any sensitivities, allergies, recent breakouts or skin conditions when you book, and tell us if you use retinoids or other active products. If you are under a dermatologist's care, check with them first. We focus on cosmetic care and comfort, not medical skin treatment.
How often should you get a facial?
Many guests book a facial about once a month, which lines up with the skin's natural renewal rhythm. Others come seasonally or before special events. A gua sha facial can be enjoyed more often if you love the de-puffed look. Members get discounts and priority booking, which makes a monthly ritual easier; compare plans on our memberships page.
What should I do before and after a facial? Can I wear makeup afterward?
Before your visit, skip exfoliants, retinoids and waxing on your face for a few days, and arrive with a clean or lightly made-up face. Afterward, drink water, keep your hands off your face and use gentle products. We suggest skipping makeup for the rest of the day so your skin can breathe, and wear sunscreen when you head outside.
Is a facial safe during pregnancy?
Many people enjoy facials during pregnancy, and they can be a lovely way to relax. Please let us know you are pregnant when you book so we can adjust products, positioning and techniques. Some active ingredients and certain devices may be avoided during pregnancy, so check with your doctor or midwife if you have questions.
How much does a holistic or gua sha facial cost?
